A reliable pour that won't blow your mind but does the job. The nose has Clean and subtly earthy — potato — the review is accurate there. The palate gives you rich potato mouthfeel, which is fine but a bit safe. I keep reaching for other bottles when I want to sip neat, but for cocktails it's hard to complain. The Clean and medium — earth and pepper is clean.

Stunning quality

What a beautifully crafted spirit. The nose gives you herbal garden notes and clean wheat and Fresh lemon verbena, and on the palate it's all about Delicate yet vivid. The mouthfeel is particularly impressive — silky, full, and rewarding. The finish rounds everything off with lemon zest and a fresh. Anyone who says all vodka tastes the same hasn't tried this. The review here nails it.

One of the most well-crafted vodkas I've tasted. The apricot hints promises quality, and the palate delivers with vanilla undertones. Nothing feels harsh or out of place. The Medium — peach and warmth ties it all together. I tried it neat, chilled, and in a Moscow Mule — it shines in all three. The winter wheat base gives it a distinctive character. Can't recommend it highly enough.

Simply brilliant

I keep coming back to this bottle and appreciating the subtlety. The Fresh and citrusy with clean wheat on the nose is genuinely there if you take a moment to notice. On the palate, honey is rich and satisfying, with Crisp and silky with a pleasant citrus brightness developing. A vodka that rewards attention. At 40% ABV, the proof is perfectly judged.

Exceptionally smooth with real character

This is exactly what premium vodka should be — clean and smooth on entry but with genuine character underneath. There's a subtle sweetness like fresh bread, a hint of white pepper on the mid-palate, and a finish that's warming without any harshness. Neat or over ice, it's superb.

Tried this side by side with several competitors at a tasting and it stands head and shoulders above them. The nose gives you Clean — subtle grain character and a hint of sweetness — it's immediately apparent this is quality. Then the palate opens up with Smooth — soft grain and the grain character shines through. The Clean and measured — grain fading gently. I've already ordered another bottle. Excellent work from The Black Farmer.

Mixed feelings. On the nose I got the vanilla — that part is nice. But the Pure and unadorned didn't match the promise for me. Mid-palate feels a bit thin. Still, it's better than many bottles at this price and the Short to medium is reasonable. Worth trying at least once, especially in a Martini.

It's a solid vodka. The nose has white flowers and some subtlety, but on the palate the Unlike any grain vodka doesn't quite deliver the complexity I was hoping for. The smooth and clean with a gentle fruity sweetness is a bit brief. Still enjoyable though — I keep reaching for it when making cocktails rather than sipping neat.

I agree with the editorial review — this is a seriously impressive vodka. Tried it neat at room temperature first, then chilled from the freezer. Both excellent, but neat at room temp shows off the character better.

I can see why people rate this but it's not quite my favourite. The black pepper is clean — really approachable — but the palate is a touch too neutral for my preferences. The Beautifully crafted single-estate expression is smooth and easy, which makes it good for vodka newcomers. I was expecting a bit more character given the editorial score.
